Mystery on the African Safari

The Rip-Roaring Mystery on the African Safari by Carole Marsh
Review by Tyler

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I gave it this rating because it had a lot of good facts. There were scary parts and funny parts. My favorite character in this story is Grant.  I liked Grant because he very smart. His sister Christina is smart too.  They have 2 friends. I couldn't believe it when Grant was inches away from a lion! But the lion just roared and turned around and walked away. Grant's grandmother was very worried when that happened. I think you will like this adventure because it is funny and sad, but very good. There are a lot of animals to see. There are poachers in this story at the end.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I gave it this rating because it is one of my favorite books I have read.
Some interesting facts that I learned are (1) to learn about animals, you don't have to have the scary kind of encounter but the poopy kind, and (2) Grizzlies are really big bears. You might be surprised to know all animals have different sized poop. I think you would like this book because it teaches you about different animals in a fun way.

Here's the website about my book and the series.

Mystery at Dracula's Castle

The Mystery at Dracula's Castle by Carole Marsh
Review by Tyler

I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I really liked this book because the kids always solve the mystery in the story. There were 4 kids in the story named Grant, Christina, John and Maria. The kids are in a dark and spooky castle in Transylvania and Romania. One of my favorite parts was when Grant fell through the ground that disappeared. You will be surprised to learn that if you go there you will be scared. One things you might like is there are a lot of riddles and tricks.  I think you should read this book because it will be very funny and it has lots of mysteries.

Getting Started

Hi! We are Tyler and David. That's me, Tyler, on the left. David is on the right with our little brother, Landon. We are going to be fourth graders this fall. We love to play football and soccer, baseball, and basketball. We like to go camping and swimming and just like being outside. But, we also love to read. Our mom makes us read every day, but don't tell her, we actually like it. Sometimes we complain about getting started with our reading, but before we know it, we've totally lost track of time. This summer, we are going to keep track of the books we read on our own blog. Our mom is helping us out, but we are going to choose the books and write about them for you. We'd love to have your comments and opinions about what we are reading. We'd also love suggestions from you.
